Water Recipes To Replace Soda


Enjoy some alternative drinks to the sugar laden sodas.

Making sure you are hydrated will help your body maintain balance and detoxify with ease. The amount of water you need per day is around 2Litres. If you are having caffeine this will increase. Try these recipes to increase your water intake.

With all these recipes the water can be served chilled, still, room tempreture, sparkling and even boiled. Make the recipes yours.


Orange, Strawberry & Mint Flavored Water

Makes 2 Litres

  • 1 Orange

  • 10 Strawberries, sliced

  • 2 sprigs of fresh mint, about 8-10 leaves

Instructions

  1. In a large pitcher, add the orange and strawberries.

  2. Over the pitcher squeeze and slightly twist the mint, do not tear the leaves, add the mint leaves to the fruit.

  3. Top with ice and water.

  4. Let the pitcher sit in the fridge for 1 hour before serving.

  5. When the water is down to ¼ full in the pitcher, refill with water and place back in the fridge. You can do this several times.

  6. Store in the fridge up to 24 hours.

Peppermint Grapefruit Detox Water

With anti-inflammatory and gut-soothing properties.


Makes 1 Litre

  • 1 ruby red grapefruit, sliced

  • 2 teaspoon chopped or sliced ginger

  • 2 sprigs of fresh mint, about 8-10 leaves

Instructions

  1. In a pitcher, add the grapefruit and ginger.

  2. Over the pitcher squeeze and slightly twist the mint, do not tear the leaves, add the mint leaves to the fruit.

  3. Top with ice and water.

  4. Let the pitcher sit in the fridge for 1 hour before serving.

  5. Store in the fridge up to 24 hours.

Apple Cinnamon Water

Rich in antioxidants and flavonoids and can help increase the metabolism.


Makes 2 Litres

  • 1 Apple thinly sliced. Cut away the seeds.

  • 1 Cinnamon Stick

Instructions

  1. In a pitcher add apple slices and the cinnamon stick.

  2. Cover with ice about 1/2 way through then with water.

  3. Place in the fridge for 1 hour before serving.

  4. You can refill the container 2-3 times before it begins to lose flavour.

Digestive Aid Beauty Water

Gut healing Properties


Makes 1 cup

  • 230 ml coconut water kefir or sparkling water

  • 2 tablespoons raw apple cider vinegar

  • 2-inch piece of ginger

  • juice from one lemon

Instructions

  1. In a glass add apple cider vinegar and ginger

  2. Cover with water

  3. Add juice from lemon

  4. Enjoy.

Turmeric and Ginger Lemonade

Anti-inflamatory properties


Serves 4

  • 4   cups water

  • 1   tsp organic turmeric powder (or 3-inch strip fresh turmeric root, peeled)

  • 1   tsp organic ginger powder (or a 4-inch strip fresh ginger root, peeled)

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • honey, to taste

  • lemon slices, or the juice of a full lemon (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Put water into a small pot and bring to a boil on the stove.

  2. Add turmeric & ginger to boiling water, reduce to simmer for 8 -10 minutes

  3. Strain the tea into a cup through strainer.

  4. Add sweetener and lemon to taste.

Blood Sugar control Water

Makes 1 Litre

  • 1L of water

  • 1 Lemon, sliced

  • 5 strawberries sliced

  • 1 apple sliced

  • handful of fresh mint leaves

  • 1 tsp of cinnamon

  • handful of ice 

Instructions

  1. In a pitcher add Lemon, Strawberries and apple.

  2. Stir in the cinnamon

  3. Over the pitcher squeeze and slightly twist the mint, do not tear the leaves, add the mint leaves to the fruit.

  4. Cover with ice about 1/2 way through then with water.

  5. Let the pitcher sit in the fridge for 1 hour before serving.

  6. Store in the fridge up to 24 hours.
